Undefeated Keyshawn Davis wins WBO lightweight championship belt

American boxer Keyshawn Davis from Virginia has secured the first championship title of his professional career.
The 25-year-old Norfolk native claimed victory in New York by knocking out Ukraine’s Denys Berinchyk in the fourth round, stripping him of his WBO lightweight title. Davis landed a powerful left hand to the body, finishing off his opponent, who had already been knocked down once earlier in the fight.
This was Davis’ 14th professional bout. He now holds a record of 13 wins, with one previous victory annulled.
As an amateur, Davis won a silver medal in lightweight boxing at the 2022 Olympic Games, as well as at the 2019 World Championships and the Pan American Games in the light welterweight division.
Currently, the other lightweight championship belts are held by Gervonta Davis (WBA), Shakur Stevenson (WBC), and Vasiliy Lomachenko (IBF).
