UEFA has imposed sanctions on seven countries participating in Euro 2024 due to racist or discriminatory behavior by their fans during matches.
The sanctioned countries are Serbia, Croatia, Romania, Slovenia, Austria, Hungary, and Albania.
The penalties range from a €50,000 fine (approximately £41,970) and a ban on ticket sales for the next UEFA away match (Nations League game in Portugal on September 5) for Croatia, to a €20,000 fine (approximately £16,790) and a two-year ban on ticket sales for Austria.
This decision came a day after UEFA accused Spanish players Rodri and Álvaro Morata of violating conduct rules following their victory over England in the Euro 2024 final.
