TS Galaxy coach Bernard Parker on facing Durban City in the Nedbank Cup final: I have given them the best possible take on being in the cup final
Bernard Parker is confident is experience in the Nedbank Cup as a player will be invaluable for his TS Galaxy players this evening.
Parker’s Galaxy face Durban City in the Ke Yona final at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in what is expected to be a pulsating match as both teams chase history in this game.
While both teams chase history, Galaxy coach in Parker has inspired his squad to victory by giving them the lowdown on what the expectations are in this match.
As a player, playing for Chiefs, Parker won the 2013 edition of this competition and lost the 2019 final in Durban, interestingly, against his current team, TS Galaxy.
“The good thing about it is that when I get to tell the players about the Nedbank Cup, and I get to explain to them what it’s like to be in the final or I get to explain to them what it’s like to experience being in the final, is because I come from that as a player, ” said Parker earlier this week.
“So, the message is more stronger to the players. And I’ve also won the Nedbank Cup as well as a player actually scored in the final towards the dying minutes.
“I scored in the final for us to lift the Nedbank Cup and I also was on the losing end as well against the very same team that I’m coaching today.
“So, it’s just to make sure that the players understand how massive this is, and also, at the same time, how this could impact their lives massively as well.”
The match starts at 6pm.
