Terrence Mashego on how his move from Mamelodi Sundowns to Durban City move came about: I initiated my move by engaging the Sporting Director
Terrence Mashego has detailed how his loan move from Mamelodi Sundowns to Durban City came about.
The Durban City left-back, fresh from his side’s Nedbank Cup victory against TS Galaxy on Saturday, said it was his idea to leave Chloorkop for Kwa-Zulu Natal.
Mashego had Aubrey Modiba, Divine Lunga and Fawaaz Basadien to compete with at Miguel Cardoso’s left-back channel.
But now the former TS Galaxy and Cape Town City defender disclosed how his move to Durban City was finalised.
“I was the one who initiated the move because I had a conversation with Flemming Berg. I told him about my situation and what I want as a player. You know, when you don’t play sometimes, it’s very difficult,” he said.
“We had a conversation, and he told me Durban City was interested. For me, I said I don’t mind as long as I will play whenever I can. So, I think it was a great decision. As a player, when you are not playing, it’s frustrating. For me to get game time and also to make people like Darren Keet happy, it was very important.”
