TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi breaks silence on departure of Adnan Beganovic and Nermin Basic from his side on the eve of the Nedbank Cup final
Tim Sukazi has broken silence on the departure of Adnan Beganovic and Nermin Basic as coaches at TS Galaxy.
The Bosnian coaching duo were let go by Sukazi last week in what was one of the shocking decisions the local game has seen this season.
It’s a shocker simply because the pair has been vital in seeing team reach the Nedbank Cup final, to be played this Saturday against Durban City, and it looked as though they will see off the final.
But the club boss decided they needed to go as the team went down from the top half to the bottom one on the Betway Premiership standings.
"To be honest, to have a run of ten matches and only producing one point, I don't think anyone would argue against it to say that you're on a bad path. It came to a point where we were only left with five games, and I was clear to say that our priorities have changed. Our priority now is to stay in the league," Sukazi told SABC Sport.
"The truth is that when you come to coach at TS Galaxy, I get to discuss in depth about our business model. We're a club that have been punching above it's weight without any headline sponsor. This means that at one point or another, we have to dispose our best players in order to sustain ourselves in the league, and that's what we've done. It can't be an excuse all of a sudden."
