The new Formula 1 season has only recently begun, but there is already a risk that this year’s calendar could be shorter than usual.
Details: According to information from Sky Sports, an announcement could be made as early as this coming weekend regarding the cancellation of two Grands Prix — in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. The reason is the ongoing military conflict in the Middle East.
No replacement races will be added to the calendar in place of these two events, meaning the season will feature 22 Grands Prix instead of the usual 24.
Reminder: The dawn of Formula 1’s new era in 2026 has been marked by a display of emphatic dominance from Mercedes. At the opening round of the season in Melbourne, the German team left their rivals with no chance, locking out the top two spots on the podium.
