The match between Portugal and Spain took on extra historical significance even before the opening whistle.
Details: According to Opta Analyst, for the first time since 2014, two teams ranked in the FIFA top 5 before the tournament will clash before the quarter-final stage of the World Cup.
The last time this happened was at the 2014 World Cup, when Germany demolished Portugal 4-0. Now, this rare scenario will be repeated as Portugal takes on Spain.
Opta also pointed out a change in Portugal's starting lineup: João Félix will start in place of Rafael Leão. Spain's starting eleven remains unchanged.
