Nigeria and Egypt are facing off in Casablanca in the battle for third place at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The first half didn't deliver many scoring chances, but there was still a ball in the back of the net. Nevertheless, the score remained goalless after the opening 45 minutes.
In the 36th minute, the Super Eagles thought they had broken the deadlock, but VAR intervened and the referee ruled out the goal. Shobeir managed to stop Onuachu's header, Chukwueze was first to the rebound and whipped in a cross to Adams, who found the net with the help of a deflection, leaving the keeper no chance.
After a video review, referee Jayed decided to disallow the goal due to a foul by Onuachu, who was directly involved in the play. The officials determined that the Trabzonspor striker had elbowed Fathi, a fact confirmed by the replay.
It's worth noting that if regular time doesn't produce a winner, we'll be heading to extra time and, if needed, a penalty shootout.
