"We Are the Best' – Akor Adams Hails Eagles After AFCON Bronze

Super Eagles striker Akor Adams has reviewed Nigeria’s AFCON 2025 campaign after a penalty shootout win over Egypt sealed bronze. Nigeria finished unbeaten, posting five wins and two draws from seven games. Adams said the team fell short of gold but showed quality throughout. “We’re the best… We came for the gold and we did not take it,” he said, adding they were proud.

He praised team spirit and coach Eric Chelle, noting the squad grew closer over three weeks. Adams also thanked CAF medics after his mother fell ill, saying “She’s much better now.” Despite mixed feelings, he stressed the result mattered, insisting bronze counts and calling the medal “positive” for his first AFCON and the campaign ended encouragingly.
