After Girona's phenomenal season in La Liga and their qualification for the Champions League, the club might face some challenges. Following such excellent results, the Catalan club could lose some of its players.

Currently, it has been confirmed that Aleix Garcia is moving to Bayer Leverkusen, while Savio and Yan Couto have returned to their parent clubs after their loans, and they are likely not the only players to depart. Previously, there were reports that last season’s top scorer and Pichichi Trophy winner, Artem Dovbyk, has drawn interest from several European giants.

Additionally, Girona defender Miguel Gutierrez has attracted significant interest from Manchester United and Bologna. According to Relevo, both clubs have inquired about the possibility of purchasing the player’s contract and its cost.

Gutierrez’s contract includes a release clause of €35 million, and Girona is likely to demand a sum close to this. It is also worth noting that half of the rights to the player’s contract belong to Real Madrid, meaning that if he is sold, the two Spanish clubs will split the proceeds equally.

Moreover, Real Madrid has the option to re-sign the player for a reported fee of just €8 million. This scenario is the most appealing to Gutierrez. While he has expressed happiness at Girona, he would not be opposed to returning to Los Blancos.
