Atletico Madrid remains interested in Dovbyk, but there is one condition for the transfer

Acquiring a prolific central striker remains a priority for Atletico Madrid this summer.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Atletico continues to pursue the top scorer of last season's La Liga, Artem Dovbyk from Girona.

However, due to financial fair play regulations, Atletico currently cannot execute this transfer. Dovbyk's release clause is €40 million, but the club lacks the funds to pay this amount and still comply with FFP rules.

To finalize Dovbyk's transfer, Atletico needs to sell forward João Félix, who spent last season on loan at Barcelona.

It’s worth noting that in the last season, Dovbyk scored 24 goals and provided 6 assists in 36 La Liga matches.
