Stellenbosch FC coach Gavin Hunt on facing Sekhukhune United: Changing of the coach can spur them to greater heights and we are wary of that threat
Gavin Hunt is wary of Sekhukhune United’s change in coaching staff buoying them to maximum points this evening.
The Stellenbosch FC coach said the game at Athlone Stadium is likely to see Babina Noko players try to impress stand-in coaches in Paulus Masehe and Andre Arendse.
Masehe and Arendse are holding the fort at the Betway Premiership side after they let go of Eric Tinkler this week.
Tinkler was let go because the Limpopo side seem to have resigned in finishing the third spot which is fast becoming elusive.
This evening Sekhukhune visit Stellies who beat them by a single goal in January via a Tshegofatso Mabasa goal.
“Sekhukhune United have just changed their coach, and that’s always dangerous,” he said via his club website.
“When you play against a team that has just changed their coach, what’s their reaction and the reactions of the players going to be like? We’re going to have to be up for it.
“They are a very experienced side and have a lot of options, so it certainly won’t be easy. They’re obviously looking at their own course, and we’ll be looking at what we’re trying to do.
“It changes things for them, because they will most probably have people who haven’t played and were unhappy, who will now be happy, and people who were playing [who will now be unhappy]. There will always be a reaction, though.”
The match starts at 7.30pm.
