South Africa's Teboho Mokoena shoulders blame for Bafana Bafana World Cup elimination
Mokoena said he was supposed to mark the Stephen Eustáquio who scored for Canada
Teboho Mokoena has shouldered the blame for South African World Cup elimination in the last-32 round in the 1-0 loss to Canada.
Mokoena believes Stephen Eustáquio, who scored the solitary striker at Los Angeles Stadium, was supposed to be closed down by him.
“I could've done better because I was behind the guy who scored that goal. We played in patches, but we really can't fault the effort from the guys because we fought until the final whistle,” said the Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder.
Now Mokoena said all he is looking to do is to reach South Africa and head to his home to relax.
"All I'm thinking about right now is to go back home, relax, and then we'll take it from there," he said.
