Oswin Appollis sees Bafana Bafana's World Cup exit as one which stretched them beyond their ability but still lost it.

Appollis is adamant that they did all they could against Canada but still went on to lose 1-0 in the last-32 game at Los Angeles Stadium.

The nippy Orlando Pirates midfielder has two great opportunities to give Bafana the lead but both his shots failed to find the back of the net.

"It was a difficult game today although I think we managed to create chances, but congratulations to them. We did our best, we wanted to win but it wasn't our day," he said after the game last night.

"It was an amazing tournament, and I felt like I could've done more but these things happen you know. It's just painful to concede so late, but we will continue on."
