SHOCKING RESULT! National First Division side Casric Stars beat PSL team AmaZulu 2-1 in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals to seal their place in the semis

Decide Chauke scored deep in extra-time to beat Richard Ofori in AmaZulu’s goalpost to send Casric Stars to the Nedbank Cup semi-finals.

Chauke’s Stars beat Usuthu 2-1 at Moses Mabhida Stadium this afternoon which makes it two wins against PSL sides in the Nedbank Cup.

Hendrick Ekstein scored the goal for Usuthu in this defeat as he equalised after Mfundo Thikazi scored the opener for the Kwa-Zulu Natal visitors.

They beat Orlando Pirates in the last-16 on penalties and as this game against AmaZulu, it also looked like it was destined for the penalty kicks.

But Chauke decided otherwise.

Usuthu’s game was lost when Ofori replaced the injured Darren Johnson in goals on the half-hour mark.

The former Maritzburg and Orlando Pirates goalminder did not look solid in this match.

He handled the ball outside his area late in the second half but he was lucky to be booked as that offence warranted a straight red card.

Perhaps that he has been on the sidelines has put him behind in terms of fitness and combination play as he was erratic on the day.

But Casric are through to the semi-finals after another PSL giant fell to the NFD side.
