Arthur Zwane on AmaZulu's 2-1 loss to Casric Stars in the Nedbank Cup: Our wastefulness cost us this game as it was a match we could have won easily
Arthur Zwane rued AmaZulu’s finishing inability as they were dumped out of the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals by Casric Stars in a 2-1 loss.
Zwane’s AmaZulu entered the Moses Mabhida Stadium yesterday without their dependable striker in Thandolwethu Ngwenya and their wastefulness upfront was proof the marksman was on the field.
Ngwenya missed the game due to suspension.
The Usuthu coach said his side should take this loss to the Motsepe Foundation Championship side as another learning curve.
“They are learning but they are learning the hard way because probably we expected them to go to the semifinals,” said Zwane.
“It was always going to be difficult also for them. But what’s disappointing us for now is that this game was there for the taking, taking nothing away from the opponents.
“This is a game we should have won. Whenever we got into the [last] third, we looked like we could score at any given time.”
