Sekhukhune United coach Eric Tinkler believes Lebohang Phiri can return to his best football under his tutelage at the Betway Premiership side
Lebohang Phiri can still reach his full potential.
Phiri can reach a level higher than the one he was on while in Europe at Sekhukhune United.
The 31-year-old made his debut for Babina Noko last night in a Betway Premiership match which United lost 1-0 to Stellenbosch FC.
“Yeah, definitely he can get back to his best because I know the boy since he was 12 years old,” Tinkler answered iDiski Times.
“I’ve known him; he’s a phenomenal, professional hard worker. He’s been out of the game, yes, but he looks after his body. He keeps training. So it’s more game conditioning that he needs just to get back in.”
“But the talent, I know the talent. I know what he can he give us and he’ll probably be up to full speed by the time we get to the TS Galaxy game.”
Sekhukhune United dropped to the fourth spot after the defeat as Kaizer Chiefs won their game against Golden Arrows.
Tinkler's men face Orlando Pirates on weekend in what will be a humdinger of a match at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
