Orlando Pirates miss a chance to overtake Mamelodi Sundowns on the Betway Premiership standings with the goalless draw against Sekhukhune United
Orlando Pirates goalless draw against Sekhukhune United meant they missed a glorious chance of toppling Mamelodi Sundowns from the top of the Betway Premiership table.
The Sea Robbers entered Polokwane’s Peter Mokaba Stadium on the second spot of the PSL table with 29 points and a win would have meant they go on top with 31.
But now they are on 2 and equal with Sundowns who have a game more than Pirates.
Sekhukhune United are on the fourth spot of the standings and see themselves as dark horses of this championship and this point for them is precious as gold as they lost in midweek.
In midweek, they lost to Stellenbosch FC who are under new coach in Gavin Hunt.
But now this goalless draw against the impressive Pirates is something which will restore their confidence going forward as Pirates have been kind of invincible this season.
