Scandal incoming? Referee revealed for PSG vs Barcelona
One of the biggest matches of the Champions League round has been handed to a referee who already knows this rivalry very well.
Details: UEFA has appointed English referee Michael Oliver as the main official for the Champions League league-phase clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona. The match will be played at the Parc des Princes on October 20.

Oliver will be assisted on the touchlines by fellow English officials Stuart Burt and James Mainwaring. Robert Jones has been appointed as the fourth official, while Italy's Marco Di Bello will be in charge of VAR with Daniele Chiffi serving as his assistant.
The appointment adds another intriguing detail to a heavyweight European clash. PSG and Barcelona have both made perfect starts to the current Champions League campaign, collecting six points from their opening two matches. The Parisians have scored ten goals in the competition, while the Catalans have found the net nine times.
It is worth noting that Oliver also refereed the previous Champions League meeting between these clubs. On October 1, 2025, he took charge of Barcelona's home match against PSG, which the French side won 2-1.
