SAFA resolves conflict with Banyana Banyana ahead of WAFCON opener

The South African Football Association (SAFA) has officially responded to the recent boycott by the players of the South African women's national team, Banyana Banyana, over delayed payments.
The squad arrived in Morocco on Wednesday, preparing to defend their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title. However, by Friday, their preparations were in jeopardy as the players refused to train, demanding payment for training camps held in April and June.
Speaking at a Saturday press conference, SAFA vice-president Linda Zwane announced that a compromise had been reached. Association officials met with team captain Refiloe Jane and the management staff, after which SAFA provided guarantees regarding the outstanding payments.
According to Zwane, the issue was swiftly resolved, and the team has already returned to their training schedule. In the group stage, South Africa will face Ghana, Tanzania, and Mali.
