Ronwen Williams reveals Mamelodi Sundowns squad had a heart to heart talk in order to see the team achieve better results in their games
A one of one meeting among the Mamelodi Sundowns squad is yielding the desired results.
The captain and goalkeeper of the team Ronwen Williams disclosed that they had a heart to heart talk amongst themselves as players in the past few weeks to discuss their matches.
And the win against MC Alger in the Caf Champions League last Saturday is as a result of that meeting and expectation is that they may have similar outcome this evening against Orlando Pirates.
The Brazilians visit the Sea Robbers at the FNB Stadium for a monumental Betway Premiership encounter as both teams are on top of the PSL standings.
“Obviously we had a lot of talks over the last few weeks,” said Williams to Mamelodi Sundowns media.
“We had to reflect as a team. We were not happy with where we were as a team. There were a lot of positive talks, that’s where we all got to sit down and share our thoughts and it was good to listen to everyone.
“In this moment everyone becomes a leader and you listen and you learn and you could see the change in spirit, the change in energy just around the team around the training ground.
“So, everything has worked out in a way that we expected after having those meetings. And obviously to top it off we had a wonderful result. I think that was one of our best performances this season.
“So, we need to kick on now and keep those values seeing that we discussed those values and just respect the badge. The Mamelodi Sundowns badge is huge and comes with a lot of responsibility. We need to always make sure that we keep that high level.”
