Reports indicate Betway Premiership side AmaZulu set to part ways with experienced midfielder Bongani Zungu as they shift to playing youngsters
Bongani Zungu is reportedly on his way out at Betway Premiership side AmaZulu.
Zungu has not been a regular under coach Arthur Zwane which has seen him become a bit part player for the Kwa-Zulu Natal this season.
In Usuthu’s push for a third place finish in the PSL standings, Zungu has not had a meaningful contribution to that feat.
And that is something Zwane may see as a blemish for the player’s contract renewal expectations at the club.
In most recent games, Zungu has been dropped with the coach preferring younger players in his position and the team also signed Luyolo Slatsha from Cape Town City.
Slatsha operates the central midfield position Zungu usually plays on and that also heightens the reports that the former Mamelodi Sundowns player is on his way out of the Durban club.
At 33 years, it remains to be seen if there would be any suitors for the former Bafana Bafana international as he roles at Usuthu this season was far from impressive.
