Florian Wirtz remains one of Xabi Alonso's top targets at Real Madrid. Despite the fact that the German midfielder signed with Liverpool last summer, Alonso makes no secret of it: Wirtz fits his football philosophy better than anyone else.
According to Defensa Central, those at the Valdebebas training ground admit this is an extremely complicated deal, but have promised Alonso that if there is a chance to land the player for a reasonable fee, the club will try to make the transfer happen.
If Liverpool decides to part ways with a player who has failed to impress at his new club next summer, Real will be ready to enter negotiations, but only in the range of €70–75 million. The price tag looks unrealistic, but these are exactly the limits the club has set for Alonso, who is determined not to give up on signing the German he worked with so successfully at Bayer.
