PSL powerhouse teams Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns avoided each other in the MTN8 semi-finals.
Pirates went through the semi-finals after beating Durban CIty 2-1 at Orlando Amstel Arena on Saturday while Sundowns beat Polokwane City 3-2 at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Now Pirates will face Sekhukhune United in the semi-finals of this year's Wafa Wafa competition, who beat AmaZulu 4-3 in a seven-gal thriller of a match in Durban.
Golden Arrows who beat Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 at FNB Stadium last night will face Sundowns in the semi-finals.
It could be that both the giants meet each other in this year's final as Pirates seek their fifth successive MTN8 title.
