Problems for Luis Enrique! Two key players missing from PSG squad
Luis Enrique faces a significant selection headache ahead of Paris Saint-Germain's return to Ligue 1 action.
Details: PSG have officially announced their squad for today's home clash against Le Mans, and two major names are missing from the list. Star winger Ousmane Dembélé and Portuguese left-back Nuno Mendes have both been left out of the squad for the sixth round of Ligue 1 at the Parc des Princes.
However, there is no injury crisis behind the absence of these two players. PSG previously confirmed that both footballers had been granted additional rest following the international break, with the decision made jointly by Luis Enrique and the club's sporting management.
The Parisians have also clarified the expected return dates. Dembélé is scheduled to resume training on Saturday, October 10, while Mendes will return on Sunday, October 11. Both players featured in four matches for their respective national teams during the international break.
Luis Enrique explained that the decision is part of an individual approach to managing his players' workloads, particularly with important Champions League fixtures approaching. The coach also suggested that such rotation could become a regular feature throughout the season.
It is worth noting that PSG enter the sixth round of Ligue 1 in sixth place, having collected eight points from their opening five matches of the 2026/27 campaign.
Reminder: No injury, but no game! PSG give Dembélé another unexpected break
