Premier League club target Rashford. Manchester United demand £60 million for forward
Arsenal have unexpectedly added Marcus Rashford to their list of potential transfer targets. According to journalist Ekrem Konur, the reigning English champions could attempt to sign the 28-year-old Manchester United forward before the summer transfer window closes.
Arsenal's interest in Rashford is linked to the uncertainty surrounding Gabriel Martinelli's future. If the club fail to find a suitable alternative to the Brazilian, the hierarchy are prepared to consider a move for the English forward.
However, negotiations are expected to be extremely difficult. Manchester United have no intention of strengthening one of their direct Premier League rivals and have already set a minimum asking price for the player. The Old Trafford club are only willing to discuss Rashford's sale for a fee of at least £60 million.
The player's own position could present another obstacle. Rashford continues to see his future at Manchester United and hopes to remain part of head coach Michael Carrick's project. The manager, in turn, views the forward as one of the key elements of his tactical system.
