Polokwane City coach Phuti Mohafe after their loss to Mamelodi Sundowns: I think we deserved a goal or two in this game looking at how we played
Phuti Mohafe suggests Polokwane City deserved more than what they got against Mamelodi Sundowns yesterday.
Mohafe said his side were not supposed to leave Loftus Versveld empty handed in their Betway Premiership match as they lost 3-0 under the Pretoria sun.
“I think it should’ve ended 2-2 if not 3-2,” he said on SuperSport TV.
“But we get an opportunity to score from the spot, we miss. We go another opportunity to score, we go wide after one-v-one with the keeper.
“But I think the boy panicked, he is still young, he will learn from the mistake.
“I think the shape that we have lost is the one that determines the score. We’ve lost the shape in the middle. We couldn’t contain them because we wanted to equalize, 1-1.
“But we didn’t realize that we were breaking our shape in the middle. But it’s another lesson learnt and learnt the hard way. We were just not on it after making the sub for Maphangule. I think it’s the one that killed us.
“We learnt the hard way.”
