Pitso Mosimane is one of the coaches who have applied to succeed Hugo Broos as Bafana Bafana coach

Pitso Mosimane is interested in coaching Bafana Bafana for the second time in his coaching career.

Safa are looking at a coach to replace Hugo Broos who will vacate the post after the ongoing World Cup tournament and Mosimane is one of the candidates who applied.

It will not be the first time Mosimane takes charge of the national team should he succeed in his application as he was coach from 2010 to 2012 in his first stint.

“I can confirm that amongst the many top names of coaches who have applied for the Bafana Bafana job is indeed Pitso Mosimane. I have his CV with me,” Safa Technical Committee chairman Jack Maluleke, told Sunday World in Monterrey, Mexico.

“We all know the passion of coach Pitso, his love for the country, and what his profile looks like, but he will also go through the interview process like everyone else because I have over 80 applications with me.

“So, we will finalise the process when we return home after the World Cup. Because we need someone who will come in and get the job started for the upcoming Afcon qualifiers around September.”

Bafana face Canada this evening in the World Cup round of 32 match in Los Angeles.

The match starts at 9pm South African time.
