Paredes Set for Boca Return After 11 Years Abroad

Leandro Paredes is heading back to Boca Juniors. As reported by Bolavip, the World Cup winner has reached a verbal agreement with the club’s football board, and his long-awaited return is now just a signature away. After more than a decade in Europe, the midfielder will rejoin the club where it all began.
The deal involves a €3.5 million payment to Roma, with Paredes activating his release clause. He is expected to sign a three-and-a-half-year contract and join Miguel Ángel Russo’s squad for preseason training starting next Tuesday.
Talks between Paredes and Boca had been ongoing for months. Juan Román Riquelme confirmed the connection before the Club World Cup: “We speak often. He knows how much we want him here, and the doors are always open.” While vacationing in Miami, Paredes followed Boca’s campaign closely, eventually sealing the deal with the club.
In his first stint with Boca, Paredes played 31 official matches, scored five goals, and received 11 yellow cards without ever being sent off. Now, he returns as a different player—world champion, seasoned in Europe, and ready to lead.
The official signing date is still pending, but the announcement is imminent. Boca is already planning a public unveiling at La Bombonera. As Riquelme put it, “His return would be even more important than mine.”
