Lamine Yamal may have received a major boost ahead of one of Barcelona’s biggest Champions League tests.

Details: According to Le Parisien, Nuno Mendes is expected to miss Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League clash against Barcelona. If the Portuguese left-back is unavailable, Lucas Digne is expected to replace him on the left side of PSG’s defence, meaning he would most likely be directly responsible for dealing with Yamal.

Mendes caused concern during PSG’s 3-1 Ligue 1 victory over Strasbourg. The defender came on in the second half but later felt discomfort in his thigh and left the pitch when Luis Enrique had already used all of his substitutions, forcing the Parisians to finish the match with ten men.

Luis Enrique explained after the game that PSG did not want to take any risks with the Portuguese international. There is still an important element of uncertainty: the available Le Parisien report after the Strasbourg match stated that the club was not particularly worried about Mendes, while no official diagnosis confirming his absence against Barcelona has yet been announced.

The Champions League meeting between PSG and Barcelona will take place at the Parc des Princes on October 20. Both teams have collected six points from their opening two matches in the league phase. It is worth noting that Yamal has recorded nine goals and nine assists in 11 club appearances this season, according to Dailysports.
