Senegal head coach Pape Thiaw has spoken publicly about the reported issues surrounding the national team camp, insisting that the squad remains fully focused on their upcoming FIFA World Cup fixture.

The Teranga Lions head into their second group-stage match under pressure after suffering a 3-1 defeat to France in their tournament opener at MetLife Stadium.

Speaking ahead of the game, Thiaw acknowledged that there have been internal challenges but stressed that everyone within the camp is united in their determination to bounce back.

It’s true that there are some internal issues, but whether it’s the players, the staff, the Federation, or myself, we are all focused on tomorrow's match, which is the most important thing.

"Yes, the contract is settled. It’s true that it took a lot of time. The only thing I can say is that it was never a money issue, but rather a matter of principle and respect."
