Oh no. Barcelona leader ruled out for 4 weeks and will miss El Clásico
Hansi Flick has suffered a painful blow just days before the biggest game in Spanish football.
Details: Barcelona have officially confirmed that Dani Olmo is suffering from an injury to his left adductor muscle following a collision with an opponent during Tuesday's Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain. Medical tests carried out on Wednesday established the extent of the problem, with the Catalan club estimating that the midfielder will be sidelined for around a month.
The injury occurred during Barcelona's 4-2 defeat to PSG at the Parc des Princes on October 20. Olmo was unable to finish the match and had to leave the pitch during the first half, with Fermín López replacing him.
The diagnosis automatically rules the Spain international out of El Clásico against Real Madrid on October 25. With an estimated recovery period of approximately four weeks, his return is expected only after the November international break, leaving Flick without one of his attacking midfield options during an important stretch of the season.
It is worth noting that the match against PSG was Dani Olmo's 100th appearance for Barcelona. Before this setback, the midfielder had gone 44 consecutive club matches without suffering an injury.
