How did he miss?! Yamal squandered an incredible chance to score against Real Madrid. VIDEO
Barcelona were handed a fantastic opportunity to quickly get back into the game against Real Madrid in the 10th round of the Spanish league, but Lamine Yamal failed to capitalize on his chance. After Kylian Mbappé's goal, the Catalans could have immediately brought the intrigue back to the clash, but their finishing let them down.
The episode began with Fermín López battling hard for the ball. The Barcelona midfielder managed to get a touch on it, after which it fell to Yamal. The young Spaniard found himself in a promising position and had the chance to shoot at goal almost instantly.
However, instead of a precise finish and a potential goal, Yamal sent the ball wide. It was a hugely painful moment for Barcelona: the team could have immediately responded to their fierce rivals' attacking move, but squandered a golden opportunity.
Following that moment, the pressure on the Catalans is mounting, as every mistake carries extra weight in El Clásico. Real Madrid now have the chance to preserve their lead, while Barcelona must find new ways to threaten the Madrid side's goal.
Real Madrid lead 1-0 at half-time.
