Nightmare for Bruno Fernandes! Manchester United captain suffers devastating blow
Bruno Fernandes endured a nightmare that went far beyond Manchester United's latest defeat. While the Portuguese captain was playing in Italy, masked burglars reportedly targeted his family home in Cheshire.
Details: According to The Sun, three masked intruders broke into Fernandes' mansion in Nether Alderley on Wednesday evening, October 21, at approximately 8:30pm. The property is reportedly worth £4 million. Designer jewellery and other valuable possessions were stolen while the midfielder was representing Manchester United against Como in the Champions League.
A neighbour reportedly noticed suspicious activity near the property and contacted the police. Officers arrived shortly afterwards, but the suspects had already escaped. Cheshire Police have opened an investigation into the burglary and are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Fortunately, Manchester United confirmed that Fernandes' family were not inside the house when the intruders struck. The club is supporting its captain and his loved ones during a difficult period. The incident came on an already painful evening for the midfielder, whose team suffered a humiliating 4-1 defeat against Como.
It's worth noting that Fernandes is not the first Premier League footballer to become a target while away on professional duties. Jack Grealish, Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez have previously experienced similar burglaries, highlighting the security risks faced by high-profile players and their families.
