Nigeria booked a place in the Africa Cup of Nations last 16 after edging Tunisia 3-2 in a gripping Group C clash at the Complexe Sportif de Fès. Victor Osimhen opened the scoring with a powerful header before Wilfred Ndidi doubled the lead, also from a corner, to give the Super Eagles control. Ademola Lookman made it 3-0 midway through the second half, continuing his fine form.
Tunisia rallied late as Montassar Talbi headed home and Ali Abdi converted a penalty, but Nigeria held firm. The win sends Nigeria through with a game to spare and places them top of the group alongside already-qualified Egypt.
Elsewhere, Benin earned their first-ever AFCON win, beating Botswana 1-0 in Rabat through Yohan Roche’s deflected strike. In Group D, Senegal drew 1-1 with DR Congo as Sadio Mané equalised. Uganda and Tanzania shared points in a 1-1 draw, leaving both needing results now.
