Senegal are dark horses of the Africa Cup of Nations.

The West African nation has the potential to win the 35th edition of the continental spectacle in Morocco.

This is according to South Africa-born Raja Casablanca coach, Fadlu Davids.

“Of course, Morocco are favourites as the hosts, but I’m really impressed with Senegal,” said Davids on the Five-a-Side Podcast.

“They are a dynamic team, fluid in terms of their passing and really aggressive in the final third.

“They are a team that probably looks the most dangerous at this stage of the tournament.”

The Lions of Teranga won the 2021 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations and are looking at winning their second triumph in Morocco.

If Davids’ assessment of Senegal is anything to go by, then this eveing against Sudan, Senegal are likely to win their last-16 match at Grand Stade de Tanger in Tangier.

That game starts at 6pm.
