A court in Morocco has reportedly upheld prison sentences handed down to Senegalese football fans following the disorder that erupted after the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final.

The ruling was confirmed by the Rabat Court of Appeal, which maintained the convictions of 18 supporters accused of taking part in a pitch invasion during the aftermath of the tournament’s climax. Prosecutors had pushed for harsher punishments, but the court ultimately decided to keep the original sentences unchanged.

The incident occurred amid chaotic scenes following the final, with tensions spilling over into the stadium. During proceedings, several of the accused denied wrongdoing, claiming they either ended up on the pitch due to crowd pressure or were attempting to avoid objects and spitting from the stands.

According to several emerging report the court confirmed a range of sentences across the group. Nine fans received one-year prison terms along with fines of 5,000 dirhams (€460). Another six were sentenced to six months in jail and fined 2,000 dirhams (€180), while the remaining three were handed three-month sentences and fined 1,000 dirhams (€90).
