After several years with the national team, the Ivorian midfielder will no longer represent Ivory Coast on the international stage.

Jean Michael Seri has decided to bring his international career to an end. Having been part of the Ivory Coast national team for 11 years, the defensive midfielder has made 64 appearances and scored 4 goals for the Elephants.

He won the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast. But on Thursday 16 July 2026, Jean Michael Seri announced that he was bringing his career to an end. The player announced his decision in a post on Instagram.

“After 11 years with the national team, having played in five Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, winning one of them and one World Cup, I am today announcing the end of my international career.

Representing Ivory Coast has been an honour and a responsibility that I have always carried with pride. I would like to thank my team-mates, the coaching staff, the Football Association, and all Ivorian football fans and connoisseurs for their trust and support.

I will now turn my attention to the next stage of my club career, with the same determination.

Thank you for everything.”
