Mohamed Ouahbi is not concerned about being the favourites ahead of Morocco’s match against the Netherlands
The Atlas Lions’ manager is not getting carried away by the praise surrounding his team at the 2026 World Cup.
Morocco face the Netherlands on Tuesday 30 June in the round of 32 of the World Cup, which is being held in the United States, Canada and Mexico. But at a press conference ahead of this clash, Mohamed Ouahbi dismissed the talk of favourites. The Morocco manager would rather his players prove themselves on the pitch.
“Whether we’re favourites or not, I’m not interested. That’s what people are talking about. What matters is what happens on the pitch. We’re respected, which is good, but we have to prove it on the pitch, not at a press conference. We’ve already played a great match against Brazil, and tomorrow will be another great match.”
