Miguel Cardoso on Mamelodi Sundowns duo of Arthur Sales and Monnapule Saleng: They are the kind of players with the energy we lack upfront currently

Miguel Cardoso says Arthur Sales and Monnapule Saleng are what Mamelodi Sundowns want at this moment in their positions.

Sales and Saleng are out with injury and the coach said the duo is on the mend in the club’s medical room.

The absence of both Sales and Saleng has left Sundowns thin upfront in terms of striking options as both players can play as forwards.

“There’s no need for those kinds of bad thoughts, let’s say. So, Saleng is still injured. It’s a situation that is obviously progressing. Let’s see when he can help the team,” said Cardoso after Sundowns’ 1-0 win over AmaZulu at Moses Mabhida Stadium in a Betway Premiership match.

“Also, Arthur Sales is still out, what obviously makes you understand clearly that those are positions where we need energy, we need characteristics that the two of them can bring in the team.”

Saleng is yet to make his debut though since arriving at Chloorkop in the January transfer window from Orlando Pirates via a loan spell at Orbit College.
