AmaZulu youngster AmaZulu midfielder Athini Maqokolo on his coach Arthur Zwane: He is the best I have worked with in my football journey
Athini Maqokolo has praised his AmaZulu coach Arthur Zwane and described him as the best he has worked with in professional football.
Maqokolo joined Usuthu from the now defunct JDR Stars at the start of the season and has been a revelation for the Durban side.
He has now given credit to Zwane who is in charge of Usuthu as a coach believes in the young brigade.
“It’s my first time, working with a coach who believes a lot on young players,” said Maqokolo.
“Where I’ve played before, coaches weren’t believing much on young players. And how he coaches me, I can understand everything he says.”
As this is his first campaign in the professional ranks, Maqokolo said he has not yet reached his full potential.
“I’d say that I’m still shocked with what has happened with me,” he added.
“It’s still my first season, I’m still new and I haven’t reached the level I want to reach.”
