Barcelona continues to prepare for the opening of the transfer window, which begins tomorrow. The Catalan club has several players on their list from various clubs. Two of the potential targets that might require significant expenditure are Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich and Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig. It is believed that Barcelona has not yet initiated negotiations with them, but is ready to do so.
However, Barcelona might face new challenges in signing these players from Manchester City. According to Sport, the English champions are also interested in acquiring these two players and are prepared to allocate £100 million for these deals.
If City makes such a generous offer, Barcelona will likely be unable to compete for the midfielders and will have to revert to other targets. The Catalan club's wishlist also includes Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao, Luis Diaz from Liverpool, Amadou Onana from Everton, and Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad.
Barcelona's financial situation forces the team to carefully consider each transfer. To acquire new players, the club may need to part ways with some of its current squad. It is believed that Barcelona is currently more interested in loan deals rather than outright purchases. There have been previous reports of their desire to re-loan João Félix from Atlético Madrid, as well as to loan Jaden Philogene from Hull City with an obligation to buy after a year.
