Mamelodi Sundowns will be without defender Aubrey Modiba when they face Esperance in the Caf Champions semi-final first leg tomorrow evening
Aubrey Modiba is suspended for Mamelodi Sundowns’ clash against Esperance in tomorrow’s Caf Champions League first leg semi-final.
The left-back is suspended for the match in Tunis and coach Miguel Cardoso may use Divine Lunga or Fawaaz Basadien in his absence.
Modiba has been a key player for the South African side and his absence for this clash may hurt Sundowns as they plan to annex this season’s Champions League trophy.
He was sent off in the quarterfinal match against Stade Malien in Bamako as Sundowns lost that game 2-0 but made it through via a 3-2 aggregate score-line.
For the showdown at Olympique Hammadi Agrebi Stadium, Modiba will be watching from the stands as his team-mates fight for a place in the final.
But for the clash at Loftus Versveld in Pretoria, Modiba will be back as under Caf rules a red card comes with one game suspension.
Sundowns would first want to get tomorrow’s match out of the way before thinking about next week.
The game in North Africa starts at 9pm.
