The 25th round La Liga clash against Levante proved to be a landmark moment for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong. In the 34th minute, the Dutch playmaker doubled his team's lead, netting his 20th goal in 290 official appearances for the Blaugrana.
Details: This goal was true relief for de Jong, finally ending his goal drought in the Spanish top flight. Frenkie had gone 13 months without scoring in La Liga—his previous league goal came back in January 2025, when he struck against Valencia.
The goal’s co-author also deserves special mention. The assist came from João Cancelo, marking the Portuguese defender’s first since his recent return to the Catalan side.
Thanks to de Jong’s clinical finish and Cancelo’s involvement, Barcelona secured a comfortable 2-0 advantage by the midway point of the first half, completely dictating play against Levante. The opening goal of the match was scored by the young talent Marc Bernal.
Reminder: Pedri and Rashford return to Barcelona’s squad for the Levante clash.
