The Libyan Football Federation was subjected to a large financial penalty of up to $ 50,000 due to the security disturbances that occurred in Libya during the qualifying matches of the African Cup of nations, and the most rioting match occurred when Libya hosted Benin at the Benghazi International Stadium on the eighteenth of last November.
Even Libya itself did not learn the lesson, these security disturbances got to its stadium after it mishandled the Super Eagles team at the time when the Nigerian national team traveled to Libya to play the qualifying match of the CAF African Cup of nations 2025.
In the same vein, the same thing happened with the Benin national team when it was attacked by coaches and police officers, after the final whistle of their AFCON qualifier in November. Benin forced a goalless draw in Tripoli to qualify for AFCON 2025 ahead of the Libyans.
