Left the pitch in tears! Barcelona star suffers yet another injury
Barcelona midfielder Gavi faces another spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury during the second round of La Liga against Elche, forcing him to leave the pitch prematurely.
The situation looked alarming: Gavi was visibly upset, leaving the field in tears. Barcelona's medical staff rushed to assist the young midfielder, and it became clear he would not be able to continue the match.
This is an especially painful blow for the 22-year-old given his difficult injury history. Last season, Gavi underwent arthroscopic surgery, sidelining him for 192 days. He was ruled out in August 2025 and only returned to full action at the start of March 2026.
Gavi remains a key part of the squad, but yet another injury could once again disrupt his rhythm. Barcelona fans can only hope that this time the injury is less severe and that the Spanish international will make a swift return to action.
For the record, the first half ended 2-0 in Barcelona's favor. Raphinha opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 14th minute, while Flick's side doubled their lead through Adeyemi right before the halftime whistle.
