Barcelona is urgently searching for a new striker ahead of the season’s kick-off. Following the departure of Robert Lewandowski and the sale of Ferran Torres to PSG, the Catalan giants are left without a top-class forward. The reigning Spanish champions have already identified several reinforcement options.

According to AS, the shortlist of potential signings includes Mikel Oyarzabal, Lautaro Martínez, Georges Mikautadze, and Vangelis Pavlidis. Of these, Oyarzabal boasts the most experience in Spanish football, having netted 100 goals in 349 appearances for Real Sociedad.

Barcelona’s sporting director Deco’s main transfer dream was the star forward Julián Álvarez. However, Atlético have no intention of parting ways with the Argentine and have publicly declared that the player will remain in Madrid. As a result, the Catalans are now forced to focus on alternative targets.

Time is running out for Barcelona. Hansi Flick’s side will kick off the new season on August 23 against Elche, so the Catalans need to make a decision on their new centre-forward as soon as possible.
