The French national team was named one of the main favourites for the tournament even before their first match at Euro 2024. Not surprisingly, the same status went to "les Bleus" in the first match of the group stage against Austria.
This game did not turn out to be fans. France did not show any bright football, and the only goal was scored not even by themselves, but as a result of an auto-goal by Maximilian Wöber.
According to Dailysports, the best player of the match was France forward Kylian Mbappe. The forward became the co-author of the winning goal for his team, because he made an "assist" on Wöber. In addition, Kylian helped his teammates even closer to the middle of the field. Mbappe also showed a phenomenal accuracy of passes (92%) and won the majority of one-on-one battles with opponents (6/10).
Unfortunately for Mbappe himself, the match ended terribly: due to a nose injury, the footballer was unable to finish the match.
