Kaizer Motaung Junior on Mfundo Viakazi and Mduduzi Shabalala missing the derby: There are no disciplinary concerns in their absence from the team
The absence of Mfundo Vilakazi and Mduduzi Shabalala in last week’s Soweto derby has lot of speculation about what actually is happening with the Kaizer Chiefs duo.
Speculation has been rife that the two players had disciplinary issues and that’s the reason they missed the Betway Premiership defeat to the Sea Robbers, a week ago today.
But the club’s Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Junior refuted these claims saying nothing of that sort exists with regards to the two players.
“I saw some rumours of Mfundo Vilakazi and Mduduzi Shabalala was left out of the matchday squad because of ill discipline, that was extremely disappointing to hear, it was a lie and fabricated, totally dishonest,” he said on Kaizer Chiefs Radio.
“Mfundo has been injured, was not able to train, Mdu we’ve had no disciplinary issues,” he continued.
“These young boys do so much for this team, they play an instrumental role in us lifting the trophy we did, under immense pressure, as young talented players.
“They give everything for this club and for flat out lies to be said about them, that for me is where I draw the line and we have issues.
“That’s totally unacceptable, none of them were dropped for disciplinary issues – that never happened.”
