Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Glody Lilepo misses on a World Cup place despite a stellar season for Amakhosi
Glody Lilepo has missed out on a World Cup spot in the Democratic Republic of Congo squad.
DRC's World Cup squad was announced today where Lilepo's hopes were dashed as Sebastien Desabre named his men to do duty in USA, Canada and Mexico next month.
The Kaizer Chiefs midfielder would be disappointed after he had a stellar season for the Chiefs in the Betway Premiership as he hoped to make the return to the national side.
Lilepo has underlined his impressive displays with five goals and few assists for Chiefs which is something that would have made him hope to make the DRC final squad.
The towering midfielder is said to have run ins with his native football federation which has made him become an outcast of sort as he has also missed out on the Afcon call up.
Midway through this season, Lilepo was said to have reached out to the football administrators in his home country in an effort to be considered by national team coach - Desabre.
But it seems that those efforts have not yielded any fruit. And the only thing he can do now is to focus on delivering goods for Kaizer Chiefs.
